The classic oval shape of the original KA-BAR remains and has been modernized with a material nearly impervious to sweat, chemicals, water and wear - Kraton G®. Featuring a serrated top and straight bottom, the "Big Brother" is a perfect addition to the Kraton G® line. Leather sheath included.   - This is one of my top choices for the "big knife" category. It uses quality steel and remains light weight despite offering a very long and capable blade. It is surprisingly difficult to find a large knife of comparable size that uses good steel as you'll find here. One of the tradeoffs to get you that light weight is that it's not as thick as you would want if your primary purpose was batoning wood. It will work for that purpose, but isn't specifically designed for wood processing. I deducted a star only because the sheath is barely adequate. If you intend to use this knife vs just having it as a collectible, I would suggest getting a kydex sheath made for it. A knife is only as useful as its sheath allows it to be! Still, this is an absolutely great blade to have on your hip.

  - When i bought mine it was bent at the hilt, i tried to straighten it, and you know how that goes.... didn't break though. My Brother now own's it.... He has used it to clear a lot of brush for hunting blinds, and it's served him well. So there's nothing wrong with the knife itself, it was just warped in either heat treatment, or was mishandled. So overall it's been an excellent knife, it just had the tang warp. But overall the 4 or 5 KABAR products i have had are ALL top quality products.

  - With this knife anything is possible. My son, while processing a deer, was able with one swing, remove the head of the deer. I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it. A true man's knife.

  - would have been a 5 star knife if while messing with knife noticed it seemed flimsy where the blade meets cross gaurd took it to kitchen table and bent it without much effort so it went from a hell yeah knife to only looks cool wont take it with me if i might actually have to use it to survive or depend on it especially for the 100$+ price tag kind of disappointed me

  - The best knife i have, use to carry a little 5 inch but now i have this and it does everything i need it to from slicing through beer cans in one swipe to helping me in the field. and i was amazed with the blade out of the box i usually sharpen my new knives but i have no need to touch this its shall i say the best knife i own, and never turning back now my knife for life

  - I like my knife but the sheath is not as good as i was hoping so i want a glass filled nylon sheath for this product, the big brother knife with kraton handle.

  - This knife is everything you could hope for. Its simply bad ass. You could shave with this thing right out the box. Its very sharp, well balanced, and feels great in you hand. The Kraton handle gives a awesome grip too. I haven't gotten it wet but you can tell the handle will still work great when damp. I'll be using this puppy as my new camping knife. Great buy.

  - most versitile knife I have seen seen or owned, light enough for extended carry, heavy enough to chop, sturdy for batoning, serrades are rouned on the edge so they cut instead of tear, the krayton handle is excellent, can even function as a short machete. As a Marine I have always loved my USMC fighter/utility, and this is truely the Big Brother.

  - This is a monster of a blade. I took this bad boy to the backwoods of Maine, and lighter trip to Vermont and she did me well. This is a great knife, its razor sharp, and its a great size. This is a little machete really. I love it. I wish they had a hard sheath instead of the leather on but I still love it The weight of the blade really lets you slice and dice.

  - Dull as Sarah Brady when I got it. Pretty good build quality but I have concerns about it holding up to hard use. We shall see. Kydex sheath would have been better but the sheath was quite solid.

  - My dad gave me this knife for my birthday and I backpack around the boundary waters all year round and after one trip there, splitting wood and building camp fires, the handle nearly separated from the blade entirely and the hilt piece nearly came out. I had to reshape the blade many times after chopping wood. After just one piece of wood, the blade was bent like crazy. I previously have had many Kabar knives and all have been great but now I'm so baffled how easy this knife bent out of shape and how fragile it is, i almost lost my faith in Kabar.

  - I just received this nice and whoa, what a surprise! This knife has the perfect weight, perfect handle, and perfect specs to perform any task if necessary. I would not recommend heavy batons or heavy chopping but if it comes down to survival, this knife would sure perform. My overall thought on this knife upon unboxing was just WOW! The sheath isn't of the best quality but sure is heavy duty leather. After market sheaths can be a bit expensive so the stock sheath will be just fine for those budget folks like myself. The long blade gives it potential for self defense, the 1095 CroVan steel and Kraton handle gives it near indestructibility for harsh outdoor abuse and the overall design makes this knife super durable so you can hand it down to your kids. Thank you Ka-bar for a durable, scary looking knife!

  - Awesome knife, if you like the old school combat utility knife, you'll love this bad bro! This is not a super heavy duty blade, dont start batoning with it or using it as a prybar, go get a Becker model for that, this is a big version of the combst utility knife, with Kabar's special serations on the spine for pesky cuts requiring a saw like action, the thickness gives the blade actual flexability, it's light enough to use as a machete...actually think of it like a warriors machete. Leather sheath folks..get over the plastic fetish! Coat that bad boy with mink oil, rub it in good, and take care of it. This is a great knife, I broke one I had because I was using it beyond it's purpose, know what you are going to do with it, or your needs, choose wisely and use acording to the capabilities.   - Just got my Big Brother in the mail today. Easily the coolest knife I own. With the weight behind it, and the very sharp edge straight out of the box, it chops through wood with no problem. But Ka-Bar, please make a glass-filled nylon sheath for this knife... The leather sheath just doesn't do this amazing knife justice. Five stars all the way.
