  - I wanted to write a follow up review and say that customer service sent me another sheath and replaced the blemished one. They sent it priority and its a great sheath. The customer service folks are awesome and really care about customer service. I can now rate this knife at five stars plus!! Thank you Kabar!

  - This knife is a beautiful collector's piece worthy of recognition aside the old John Ek knives. It is exactly the same specs as KA-BAR's EK 44 model, except made with nicer materials and with a stainless steel blade instead of carbon steel. The blade is mirror polished and even the nuts that hold the walnut scales on were placed symmetrically. You can tell whoever finished this knife took their time and did a really good job to ensure it was display-worthy. My one complaint about this model is the leather sheath. While it is a beautiful sheath and made of really nice leather, the retaining strap is a little too long, so the handle is a bit loose when sheathed. However, this is meant as a display knife, so it will rarely (if ever) be sheathed at my house. I have no doubt the knife is usable for carry, though if you wanted to do so, you could buy the sheath for the EK 44, which has excellent retention.

  - I can't rate this knife at five stars because of the issues I had with the sheath. Although the knife is well-made, extremely sharp and nicely polished, the sheath however had issues. The first time I t snapped the retaining strap closed and unsnapped it the button snap broke! I contacted customer service and they sent me a new sheath, however, the new sheath looks to be a factory second with several blemishes, uneven color, and scratches in the leather. I'm thankful they sent me a new one but for the money I spent, and this being a presentation knife, you think they would've put a little more care and selecting a better sheath for me.

  - I have collected knives of all types for 50 years. The EK by Ka-Bar is the best I have found. Too nice to use really, but I may. I have more expensive blades but this one is a jewel. MT
